This was my first big project that I led at Shelter Insurance (a large regional person lines insurance company)
2011? When iphones were new and android was barely a thing.
Our site had been live for a couple years and was ready for a HTML/CSS refactor as it had been built in pieces by several different agency contractors. It also needed to be responsive, something the current design did not support.
— Created several wireframe and design iterations with business partners
— Created high fidelity design in photoshop
— Rewrote every line of css for entire website (~150pages)
— Setup templating system reusable across entire site
— Setup a style guide website for developers to reference
— Led team of developers to convert entire site to new html
— Created conversion guides for developers
— Reviewed every page’s html before going live.
— Site as I designed it is still live (banner changes regularly). CSS and style guide site has held up great, though the design is starting to look dated. www.ShelterInsurance.com
