Accessibility

I have always been interested in how individuals make accommodations to get things done not only on the web but in real life. When I talk to people about web accessibility at work, everyone is quick to bring up designing/coding for “blind people” to make our site accessible. This is a huge underestimation of the things that make it challenging for people to access information on the web.

My UX team has recently recieved approval for on site accessibility training for all of the developers. We did this by presenting to management an accessibility basics and offering our suggestions on what it would take to make our company compliant.

I am also working with my friend (and UX person from another team) with a physical disability to start a group at our company for people with disabilities.
